The role and what you’ll be getting up to on a day to day basis:

We’re looking for an Onsite Support Engineer to join an established team providing dedicated technical support within one of our customer environments.

Working alongside your fellow engineers, you’ll provide hands-on 1st and 2nd line support, resolving technical issues and service requests while ensuring users receive a responsive and high-quality support experience.

You’ll be part of a collaborative onsite team, sharing knowledge, supporting one another and working together to keep the customer’s technology running smoothly. You’ll troubleshoot a range of hardware, software and application issues, taking ownership of your workload while knowing you have the wider team around you when needed.

Alongside day-to-day support, the team also gets involved in wider technical activities including device deployments, installations, moves, adds and changes, giving you plenty of variety and opportunities to continue developing your technical skills.

Your responsibilities will include:

  •          Providing hands-on 1st and 2nd line technical support as part of the onsite support team.
  •          Troubleshooting and resolving desktop, laptop, printer and application issues.
  •          Supporting basic network and server troubleshooting and administration.
  •          Taking ownership of technical queries and service requests through to resolution.
  •          Working with the team to prioritise workloads and meet agreed customer SLAs.
  •          Supporting technical projects, deployments and installations.
  •          Building strong relationships with users and keeping them informed throughout the resolution process.
  •          Collaborating with your onsite colleagues and wider technical teams to resolve more complex issues.
  •          Sharing knowledge across the team and continuing to develop your own technical skills.

We need a candidate with:

You’ll already have experience working within an IT support environment and be comfortable troubleshooting technical problems independently, while also enjoying being part of a collaborative support team.

Just as importantly, you’ll enjoy working with people. This is a customer-facing position, so we’re looking for someone who can build strong relationships, communicate technical information clearly and take ownership when something needs fixing, while sharing knowledge and working closely with colleagues to deliver the best outcome for the customer.

You’ll bring:

  •          Previous experience within an IT support role, with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  •          Experience supporting desktop and laptop hardware, Microsoft 365, Windows and Active Directory.
  •          A good understanding of networking and the wider IT infrastructure environment.
  •          Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly.
  •          A collaborative approach, with the ability to share knowledge, support colleagues and contribute positively to the wider team.
  •          The confidence to work independently, prioritise your workload and take ownership of issues.
  •          The ability to remain calm under pressure and manage customer expectations effectively.
  •          Exposure to technologies such as Exchange, SCCM, WSUS or MDT would be beneficial.
  •          Relevant Microsoft or ITIL certifications would also be welcomed but aren’t essential.

What can we offer you?

  •          Access to our LinkedIn Learning platform, with over 16000 expert-led online tutorials to enhance and achieve your personal and professional goals.
  •          Healthcare cash plan. This will give you access to online GP appointments, 24/7 access to qualified counsellors and cash back against a range of general healthcare
  •          Casual dress policy
  •          Company Pension Scheme
  •          Company social events
  •          25 days annual leave plus public / bank holidays
  •           Referral bonus scheme of £1000 when you successfully refer a friend.
  •          Purchase of annual leave scheme
